And Buju as well as many other Rasta men often start out violent rude boys but as long as they have their dreads, you can bet they fight every day to be more peaceful. What Happened To Our Campaign?

We had a campaign but it seemed to collapse after the meeting between Banton and gay "activists" in San Francisco.
Since then there has not been a single cancellation, while Banton management has been busily booking substitute dates all over the place.

Dancehall fraternity Silent, what about the truce suggestion?

interestingly the dancehall community in Jamaica has been silent for the most part during this Cancel Buju exercise, I feel they fear that their earnings may be compromised as well seeing Buju is loosing tons of money because of cancellations. It all boils down to bread and butter issues - money. Most dancehall artists earn from tours and overseas sales in the US and Europe. They feel threatened now with the intensificationof the lobby against murder music.

Great work guys.

One Jamaican music expert has suggested that dancehall artists call a truce with the gay community as it is hurting the pockets

Got this email today from the local promoter:
Thursday 10/1/2009

All-In Entertainment and The Music Farm is canceling the Buju Banton concert scheduled for October 27th, 2009 in Charleston, SC at The Music Farm. All-In Entertainment and the Music Farm have received numerous calls and emails from many concerned citizens regarding the single “Boom Bye Bye” written by Mr. Banton. Neither, All-In Entertainment or the Music Farm, were aware of this song and the suggestions that it makes. While we do believe in first amendment rights, we do not feel this artist projects the image that All-In Entertainment and The Music Farm have spent years building. We feel it is in the best interest of our fans, friends and the community as a whole to cancel this performance. We hope that everyone understands our concerns and reasons for canceling this show and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused patrons already planning to attend the show. All tickets purchased for this show will be fully refunded at the point of purchase.
