Yes, did you read the entire article??Did you NOT see what the protesters did? After meeting the the group and having a discussion about Peace. After performing a concert in which Banton did not perform his song that is of issue, neither making any mention about how he believes homosexuality is wrong. After all this that Banton had did, in essence doing NOTHING wrong. Protesters maced concert goers... Please tell me I am all ears. HOW this is right? In what respect what so ever would protesters be justified to administer their own violence against a peaceful people? I see this as rather hypocritical. They say they want Peace, however they are violent themselves against people that are Peaceful. Perhaps these efforts to shut him down are not working very well because it's unjust. Read this article too : http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/magazines/Entertainment/html/20091010T190000-0500_161506_OBS_BUJU_BANTON_S_RASTA_GOT_SOUL_TOUR_TRIUMPHS.asp Banton's words: "Throughout my travels as an artiste, I have witnessed first- hand the senseless atrocities being suffered by innocent people around the world, and my heart goes out to them. I do not condone violence against anyone, including gays, and I have spent my career rallying against violence and injustice through music. At this point, I can only hope that my body of work speaks for itself and that anyone still offended by the lyrics of my youth will take the time to explore my catalog or come to one of my shows before reducing my character and entire musical repertoire to a single song," YES, he has in the past made bad decisions, and has spoken out against homosexuality. But most are not even listening to him, and allowing him to change, or seeing if he has changes. Do you find this valuable? |

The "TOUR TRIUMPHS" story was entirely lifted from his manager's press release.
